About the Role:

The Leasing Associate plays a critical role in the property management team by facilitating the leasing process and ensuring a positive experience for prospective and current residents. This position is responsible for marketing available rental properties, conducting property tours, and effectively communicating lease terms and policies. The Leasing Associate serves as a primary point of contact for inquiries, applications, and lease renewals, helping to maintain high occupancy rates and resident satisfaction. By managing administrative tasks related to leasing and collaborating with maintenance and management teams, this role supports the overall operational efficiency of the property. Ultimately, the Leasing Associate contributes to the financial success and reputation of the property by securing qualified tenants and fostering strong community relations.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in leasing, property management, customer service, or a related field.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Basic computer proficiency including familiarity with property management software and Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and evenings as needed.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Business, Real Estate, or a related field.
  • Experience with Fair Housing laws and leasing compliance.
  • Proficiency in multiple property management software platforms.
  • Bilingual abilities to serve diverse resident populations.
  • Certification in leasing or property management (e.g., NALP, IREM).

Responsibilities:

  • Greet and engage prospective residents, providing detailed information about available units, amenities, and leasing terms.
  • Conduct property tours and answer questions to help prospects make informed leasing decisions.
  • Process rental applications, verify applicant information, and prepare lease agreements in compliance with company policies and legal requirements.
  • Maintain accurate records of leasing activity, resident communications, and lease documentation.
  • Coordinate with maintenance and management teams to ensure timely resolution of resident concerns and property upkeep.
  • Assist with marketing efforts including online listings, social media updates, and community events to attract potential tenants.
  • Manage lease renewals and communicate changes in lease terms or policies to residents.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to foster positive relationships and encourage resident retention.

The Leasing Associate utilizes strong communication skills daily to engage with prospective tenants, clearly explaining leasing terms and addressing questions to facilitate informed decisions. Organizational skills are essential for managing multiple applications, lease documents, and scheduling property tours efficiently. Customer service skills are applied continuously to build rapport with residents and resolve concerns promptly, contributing to resident satisfaction and retention. Proficiency with property management software and basic computer applications enables accurate record-keeping and streamlined administrative processes.
