  • The position requires a candidate currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering, along with hands-on project involvement and a willingness to be forklift trained.
  • Candidates should possess mechanical aptitude, knowledge of blueprints, manufacturing processes, and lean methodologies, as well as excellent communication skills.
  • Experience with 3D modeling and simulation tools is necessary, along with proficiency in Microsoft Office products.
  • The salary for this position is competitive, and candidates should ideally have 0-2 years of relevant experience.

Overview

Challenger Lifts, Inc. a division of Snap-on is seeking a candidate that is capable of providing support through various projects, which include but are not limited to design, development, and testing of products, components, and systems.                                                                               

Responsibilities

  • Assist in creating and modifying engineering drawings using CAD software.

 

  • Support product design, prototyping, and testing activities.

 

  • Participate in design reviews and provide input on improvements.

 

  • Help prepare technical documentation, reports, and specifications.

 

  • Work with teams in Kaizen events to produce new processes to improve workflow.

 

  • Collaborate with manufacturing, quality, and project teams to ensure design feasibility.

 

  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field. 

  • Must have an eager attitude to learn and develop new skills
  • Must be willing to be hands on with projects
  • Must be willing to be forklift trained
  • Ability to interact with peers and subordinates.
  • Mechanical aptitude.
  • Working knowledge of:

o Blueprints

o Manufacturing processes

o Lean Methodologies

o Process design

o 6S practices

  • Must have excellent communication skills including written (email correspondence, report writing, etc.) as well as formal and informal presentation skills.
  • A solid understanding of process flow, process design, and lean manufacturing principles.
  • Experience with 3D modeling and simulation tools.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office suite products including Word, Outlook, Excel, Access, etc.
  • Must align with the Snap-on “Who We Are” Mission statement.
  • Must wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) which includes; Hi-Vis Vest, Steel Toe Shoes, Safety Glasses or Prescription Safety Glasses (If Applicable), Gloves (If Applicable), and Ear Plugs (If Applicable).
  • Must adhere to safety guidelines
