Description

The Area Manager oversees a portfolio of multifamily communities, including affordable and market-rate properties. This role is responsible for driving financial performance, operational efficiency, regulatory compliance, team leadership, and resident satisfaction across assigned communities.

The Area Manager works closely with Community Managers, Regional leadership, Maintenance leadership, and corporate support teams to ensure properties are operating at the highest standards while meeting ownership objectives and company expectations. This position requires strong leadership, organization, problem-solving, and communication skills, as well as the ability to effectively manage multiple communities in a fast-paced environment.

What You'll Do

• Lead and support a portfolio of apartment communities.
• Improve occupancy, financial performance, and resident satisfaction.
• Coach, mentor, and develop Community Managers and onsite teams.
• Oversee budgets, financial reporting, and operational performance.
• Conduct property inspections and implement improvement strategies.
• Ensure compliance with HUD, LIHTC, RD, and other affordable housing programs.
• Partner with ownership groups and corporate leadership to achieve property goals.

We're Looking For Someone Who...

• Has 5+ years of multi-site property management experience
• Has strong affordable housing experience (HUD, LIHTC, RD preferred)
• Understands budgets, NOI, occupancy, leasing strategy, and operational excellence
• Leads with integrity, accountability, and a servant-leadership mindset
• Can coach teams, solve problems, and inspire high performance
• Enjoys traveling and working directly with onsite teams to create measurable results.

• Hours: Monday to Friday, 8 AM - 5 PM with flexibility.
