Position Description:

The Athletic Trainer Coordinator position will serve in the department of Athletics, assisting in the daily operations of the athletic training room and providing multifaceted healthcare for the Baseball and Men’s Golf programs at the University of Louisville.  The Athletic Trainer Coordinator will be asked to participate in a mentorship program and may be assigned professional development tasks during their tenure. This position reports to the Associate Athletic Trainer.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide healthcare services to the student-athletes for baseball and men’s golf including but not limited to: injury prevention and evaluation, treatment and rehabilitation, practice/event coverage, physician referral(s), and medical appointments.

  • Establish and comply with a line of communication to team physicians, coaches, student-athletes, EMT’s and parents (when applicable).

  • Provide game, practice, conditioning, and athletic training coverage for baseball and men’s golf.

  • Provide training room coverage.

  • Assist with medical records management for student-athletes for baseball and men’s golf.

  • Remain current with all national and state certifications and licensure and follow the NATA code of ethics, including annual CEU opportunities.

  • Other duties assigned by the Associate Athletic Trainer.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's Degree in Athletic Training or a related field.

  • One (1) year of related work experience within a collegiate or professional sports setting.

  • Knowledge of NCAA and ACC rules and regulations.

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and internet.

Compensation will be commensurate to candidate experience.
