Position Summary
The Barista is responsible for providing exceptional customer service while preparing and serving high-quality coffee, espresso beverages, teas, and light refreshments for employees, guests, and visitors within a corporate office environment. This role maintains a clean, welcoming café atmosphere and ensures efficient service during peak business hours.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve coffee, espresso drinks, teas, and other specialty beverages according to established recipes and quality standards.
- Greet customers in a friendly, professional manner and provide excellent customer service.
- Operate point-of-sale (POS) systems and accurately process transactions.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the café, including counters, equipment, seating areas, and storage spaces.
- Stock and replenish food, beverage, and supply inventory throughout the day.
- Follow food safety, sanitation, and health regulations at all times.
- Monitor product quality and freshness, ensuring beverages and food items meet company standards.
- Assist with receiving deliveries and organizing inventory.
- Communicate customer feedback and operational needs to management.
- Support catering requests, meetings, and special events as needed.
- Collaborate with team members to maintain efficient café operations and a positive customer experience.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous barista, café, food service, or customer service experience preferred.
- Ability to operate espresso machines, coffee brewers, and related equipment.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Basic math and cash-handling skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
- Frequent reaching, bending, and repetitive hand movements.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
