ABOUT THE ROLE
Monroe Biomedical Research is growing, and we are seeking an experienced, patient-focused Clinical Research Nurse Practitioner to join our Louisville team.
This unique role combines advanced clinical practice with hands-on clinical research coordination. The Clinical Research Nurse Practitioner will work directly with study participants while supporting the successful execution of clinical trials from patient screening and study visits through documentation and follow-up.

WHAT YOU’LL DO


Clinical Research & Study Management
• Coordinate and manage clinical trial visits from screening through study completion
• Review study protocols and ensure required procedures and assessments are completed accurately and within protocol-defined timelines
• Develop and maintain accurate and complete source documentation in accordance with study protocols
• Support participant screening, enrollment, and ongoing study activities
• Work closely with investigators, sponsors, monitors, and internal research staff to support successful study execution
• Ensure clinical trials are conducted in accordance with Good Clinical Practice (GCP), FDA regulations, sponsor requirements, and internal procedures.


Patient Care & Clinical Responsibilities
• Provide clinical assessment and care to adult study participants within the scope of NP practice and study protocol requirements
• Perform and/or oversee study-related clinical procedures, including blood draws, ECGs, pulmonary function testing, vital signs, and other protocol-required assessments
• Review relevant medical history, medications, laboratory results, and other clinical information
• Educate participants regarding study requirements, procedures, medications, and follow-up expectations
• Identify and communicate changes in participant condition, adverse events, or other clinically significant findings to appropriate study team members
• Provide a professional, compassionate, and supportive experience throughout each participant’s clinical trial journey.


Data, Documentation & Quality
• Review and process medical records and study-related clinical documentation
• Accurately document study visits and clinical findings
• Enter and maintain study data in sponsor and clinical research systems accurately and within required timelines
• Prepare, process, and coordinate shipment of laboratory specimens according to protocol requirements
• Respond to data queries and assist with maintaining complete, inspection-ready study records


QUALIFICATIONS
• Current Nurse Practitioner (NP) licensure with the ability to practice with an adult patient population
• Master’s degree in Nursing or related advanced practice field required
• Previous experience providing direct patient care required
• Clinical research experience strongly preferred
• Strong clinical judgment and commitment to patient safety
• Excellent attention to detail, organization, and documentation skills
• Ability to interpret and follow detailed clinical trial protocols
• Ability to effectively manage competing priorities and multiple studies in a fast-paced research environment
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a patient-centered approach
