Wild Goose Filling has a great opportunity for a Divisional Controller to join our Team!

The ideal candidate brings strong financial acumen, hands-on experience, a sense of urgency, and a data-driven, results-oriented mindset. Responsibilities/daily tasks

  • Act as a key business partner to the executive leadership, providing financial insights to inform strategic decisions.
  • Manage all accounting operations, including Billing, A/R, A/P, GL, inventory accuracy, valuation, Revenue recognition, and sales tax filings.
  • Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting, including monthly, quarterly, and annual reports to all relevant stakeholders, while maintaining internal controls to minimize the risk of material misstatement, fraud, or audit deficiencies.
  • Oversee the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and financial projections.
  • Monitor and analyze the company's financial performance against the budget/forecast, and implement changes to improve results.
  • Manage inventory accounting processes, including monitoring of E&O inventory and related reserve calculations.
  • Monitor job costing, departmental costing, and overall project results
  • Analyze nd monitor different revenue streams and best practices
  • Develop and implement cost-saving initiatives to reduce operating expenses and improve gross margins.
  • Provide strategic insights and analysis to support decision-making and drive profitable growth.
  • Lead financial audits, ensuring compliance with internal controls and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify business opportunities and challenges.
  • Develop a standard management dashboard, then codify and automate it.
  • Manage fixed assets while adhering to corporate polices.
  • Communicate routinely with Middleby Corporate Accounting, including month-end deliverables and ad hoc requests, and ensure the company complies with corporate accounting policies and procedures.
  • Manage intercompany reporting, including sales/orders and all related month-end reporting. Coordinate with Divisional President on requests/documentation related to external and internal audits, special projects, and new systems implementations.
  • Oversee and approve multi-state sales tax filings monthly, quarterly, and annually.
  • Work on ad hoc projects as directed.


Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or CMA preferred).
  • 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Progressive experience up to a Controller equivalent position strongly preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of cost accounting, inventory management, US GAAP, and corporate reporting.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems.
  • Excellent understanding of financial reporting, budget management, and forecasting.
  • Proven ability to lead and manage an accounting team effectively.
  • A proactive mindset with the ability to identify areas for cost savings and efficiency improvements.
  • Experience in Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) with the ability to serve as a strategic business partner to senior leadership.
  • Minimal domestic and international travel is required as necessary to perform essential job functions.
