Support Young Adults Building Independent Futures
Boys & Girls Haven is seeking a full-time Direct Care Professional to work within our Independent Living Program. This position supports young adults as they develop the practical skills, confidence, and self-sufficiency needed to successfully transition into adulthood.
Schedule:
2nd Shift Sunday -Thursday 2pm -10pm
May be assigned varied shifts within a twenty-four hour/seven-day-a-week schedule. Holidays, weekends, overtime, and rotating on-call responsibilities may be required.
In This Role, You Will:
- Coach clients in budgeting, money management, meal planning, housekeeping, laundry, and time management
- Support educational, employment, and vocational goals
- Assist clients in accessing community resources and services
- Provide guidance, accountability, and supervision while promoting increasing independence
- Participate in treatment team meetings and support individual goals
- Facilitate individual and group skill-building activities
- Respond to emergencies and crisis situations appropriately
- Utilize Safe Crisis Management (SCM) techniques as required
- Transport clients to work, school, appointments, and approved activities
- Complete documentation related to client progress, incidents, and program activities
- Support apartment safety, cleanliness, and maintenance expectations
What We're Looking For:
- High school diploma or GED required
- Bachelor's degree in a Human Services field preferred
- Experience working with at-risk adolescents or young adults preferred
- Strong communication, organizational, and documentation skills
- Ability to work effectively within a team environment
- Certification in SCM, CPR, and First Aid, or ability to obtain upon hire
- Valid driver's license and insurable driving record
- Must be at least 21 years of age
