Description

Researches, collects, and reports information on the ability and capacity of company products and competing equipment. Aids in the design and development of equipment and systems, and redesign of existing systems to fulfill the needs of customers. Responsibilities also include providing equipment functionality and capability reports to the sales force and acting as technical liaison to the sales team. 


Supervisory Responsibilities: 

  • None.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Cross-reference competitive products to those of represented manufacturers. 
  • Answer general technical support calls from customers and inside/outside sales teams. 
  • Create Bill of Materials for projects in Excel and price jobs for customer quotations through P21. 
  • Enter quotes, orders, and production orders into P21 to process through the shop.
  • Source, price, and purchase product for projects while working with new and existing vendors.
  • Work with shop foreman and assemblers as needed to complete projects to customer's specifications.
  • Log and maintain files and data on projects and catalog library in engineering and AHP server. 
  • Design 80/20 assemblies using AutoQuoterX (AutoCAD).
  • Draw 2-D schematics for Fluid Power & Electrical systems using AutoCAD.
  • Design and draft mechanical adapters and manifolds in 3-D using Inventor and/or SolidWorks.
  • Program PLC, HMI, VFD, Servo, Vision, Robots, Safety, and other systems. 
  • Provide start-up assistance and on-site technical assistance to customers and salesmen.
  • Conduct on-site product training for customers. 

Requirements

Skills/Abilities:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Mechanical Aptitude a plus.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software to complete reports and logs.
  • Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment with associates. 

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Physical Requirements:

  • While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
