Job Description

AZZ has an exciting 1st & 2nd shift opportunity for a Production Supervisor at our Louisville facility. Reporting to the Operations Manager you will support and supervise the processes and procedures in the plant in order to maximize quality, safety, productivity, and profitability.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Monitors operations for efficiency and safety. Ensures all regulatory requirements are met.
• Follows production schedules to meet internal goals as well as expectations of customers.
• Performs the same work duties as those of whom they supervise and/or perform more difficult skilled tasks or assists in their performance.
• Oversees production staff, including involvement in hiring/training of personnel.
• Collaborates with production staff and upper management to solve work related problems.
• Resolves personnel problems, complaints, and formal grievances when possible or refers them to higher levels of management for resolution.
• Prepares and maintains employee records such as attendance and hours worked.
• Serves as the direct report for plant and lead personnel.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of supervisory experience is preferred
• Excellent written and oral communication skills needed
• Knowledge of raw materials, production process, quality control and costs preferred
• Knowledge of hand tools and equipment is preferred
• Basic knowledge and skill with Word, Excel and iPad operating system.

Minimum Education

• High School Diploma or equivalent required
• Some higher education desired.  Can be technical training in another field.
