Position Description:

The Counseling Center in the Division of Student Affairs at the University of Louisville is seeking to hire a Senior Manager, Student Health. The Senior Manager oversees all efforts and initiatives of The PEACC Center, directly managing staff members, one or more graduate assistants, and student workers and volunteers. There are four areas of focus for the support services the PEACC Center offers including: personalized support, safety and wellbeing, understanding care options, and confidentiality. Efforts include providing survivors insight into student conduct processes, insight into criminal procedures and criminal prosecution, providing medical and educational support and referral, and referring survivors to community agencies for additional and ongoing future support. The Senior Manager directs all operations of the department including managing the departmental budget, preparing annual reports, maintaining web and social media content, and overseeing all administrative activities. The Senior Manager is also responsible for development of outreach and prevention programming about sexual and domestic violence and to collaborate with other University departments and offices to deliver this programming to the University Community. The senior Manager will be expected to focus on the mission and goals of the PEACC Center.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Hires, trains, supervises, coaches, and evaluates two (2) full-time program coordinators, one (1) part-time program coordinator, and a small group of student interns and practicum students

  • Provides strategic leadership while maintaining a focus on the mission and goals for The PEACC Center

  • Provides leadership for four areas of focus: personalized support, safety and wellbeing, understanding care options, and confidentiality

  • Provides crisis intervention for all students impacted by power-based violence including providing support and insight for disciplinary procedures, insight into criminal procedures and criminal prosecution, medical referrals, academic referrals, and other referrals to community resources providing advocacy and legal support

  • Manages department budget, prepares annual reports and statistics of services, and maintains web and social media content

  • Develops and delivers prevention programming and assists the University in the development and implementation of assessment tools on sexual violence, domestic violence, and stalking

  • Directs implementation of prevention strategies with prevention coordinator

  • Advocates for and assists the University to develop, review, and implement policies and procedures related to sexual violence, domestic violence, and stalking

  • Serves on campus committees and represents the University in regional, state, and national programs as required

  • Produces promotional materials and social norming campaigns, and promotes public awareness events in collaboration with various University departments

  • Manages office operations and oversees all administrative activities such as ordering and stocking supplies, visitor traffic flow, and email and phone communication

  • Performs other duties and completes special projects as assigned

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in a related field

  • Five years of experience in a University counseling center setting

  • Certification and training to be able to provide supervision to master level counselors

  • Green Dot Violence Prevention College Strategy certification

  • Experience supporting recipients of behaviors associated with sexual assault, dating violence, stalking, or sexual harassment

  • Ability to work constructively within institutional settings and effectively interact with a diverse university community

  • Experience working in an educational setting

  • Experience advancing prevention strategies

Work Hours and Location

This is a full-time, exempt position with a 37.5-hour regular workweek. Additional work hours may be required based on department needs, programming, staffing, and/or scheduling. The primary work location for this position is at the Belknap Campus but may include outreach to the Health Sciences Campus. Occasional overnight travel (professional development, industry conferences) may be required.
