Physical Therapist Intern
Essential Functions of the Physical Therapist assistant Intern: Â The intern will shadow a Physical Therapist. Â The intern will assist with participate in the following:
- Conduct direct physical therapy treatments to address deficits and meet treatment goals. Â
- For those receiving direct physical therapy services, provide objective information in order to re-assess at least quarterly to determine effectiveness of the treatment plan and the continued need for services. Â
- When applicable, develop, train and monitor Physical Support Plans. Â
- Participate in regularly scheduled wheelchair and orthotics clinics that are held on grounds. Â
- Develop home programs including exercise, standing and positioning. Â
- Provide consultation and in-service training with staff. Â
- Ensure proper documentation of services. Â Â
- Provide supports to facilitate individuals achieving their personal goals.Â
- Learn and follow all policies and procedures.Â
- Must comply with all aspects of the Strategic Plan.Â
- Shall provide individualized services to meet the treatment needs of each of the specialty intermediate care (IC) clinic patients for services in field of care. Â Shall meet requirements of 902 KAR 20:410 Specialty Intermediate Care Clinics as warranted.
Qualifications:Â Must be currently attending an accredited school working towards a degree in Physical Therapy or related field.Â
