Experiencing outstanding growth since its founding in 1989, this innovative company’s growing portfolio exceeds twenty-five million square feet.   Supervisory Responsibilities: Provides executive oversight of all financial operations for assigned development and operational portfolios, including accounting functions and reporting across staff levels (Assistant Vice Presidents, Managers, Assistant Managers, Senior Accountants, Staff Accountants, and other administrative staff, as required). Directs all month-end and year-end close activities and ensures timely and accurate reporting to executive leadership, lenders, investors, and business partners. Leads the accounting integration, organizational planning, and reporting strategy for acquisitions, new developments, and complex transactions. Establishes departmental objectives, performance standards, staffing strategies, and organizational development initiatives. Oversees annual filings and regulatory reporting requirements, including RPIEs, 1099s, and other required filings. Evaluates staffing requirements and organizational structure to support growth, operational efficiency, and succession planning. Provides leadership oversight of onboarding, employee development, and management training programs. Reviews and approves budgets, forecasts, and financial plans for assigned portfolios.   Summary of Non-Supervisory Responsibilities: Delivers strategic financial information and analysis to the Senior Vice President, President, executive leadership team, lenders, investors, and other key stakeholders. Acts as a trusted business advisor on complex accounting, financing, development, leasing, construction, acquisition, and operational matters. Provides strategic direction for accounting policies, reporting standards, internal controls, process improvements, system enhancements, and departmental initiatives. Oversees portfolio-level financial performance and proactively identifies risks, opportunities, and business trends affecting operations and development projects. Leads accounting support for complex transactions, financing arrangements, capital structures, acquisitions, dispositions, and other strategic initiatives. Ensures compliance with financial reporting requirements, lender agreements, investor requirements, company policies, and regulatory standards. Oversees audit coordination, tax compliance activities, and relationships with external auditors and CPA firms. Drives department-wide automation, standardization, continuous improvement, and operational excellence initiatives. Collaborates with executive leadership on strategic business planning, organizational growth, and long-term financial objectives. Other duties as assigned. QualificationsEducation and Experience: Bachelor's degree (B.A.) in Accounting or related field from an accredited four-year college or university required. Minimum of ten (10) years’ related Accounting or finance experience required. CPA license or pursuit of CPA license preferred. Minimum eight (8) years’ experience leading a team of accounting personnel preferred. Minimum six (6) years’ experience in construction/real estate development and/or property management accounting preferred. Minimum six (6) years’ auditing experience in public accounting preferred. Timberline, Intacct, Yardi or other GL accounting system software knowledge preferred.   Competencies: Provides vision, direction, and leadership for accounting operations while aligning departmental goals with organizational objectives. Understands the financial, operational, and strategic drivers of the business and incorporates them into decision-making. Ensures the integrity, accuracy, and reliability of financial reporting while maintaining strong internal controls and compliance. Effectively communicates and influences executive leadership, partners, lenders, investors, and key stakeholders. Builds organizational capability through succession planning, workforce planning, leadership development, and cultural stewardship. Anticipates complex challenges, evaluates alternatives, and develops solutions that balance short-term needs with long-term objectives. Leads transformational initiatives involving systems, processes, organizational structure, and operational effectiveness.
