Overview

The VP will be responsible for ensuring that the Business has an effective compliance program that is designed to prevent and detect misconduct, and that the Business is acting in compliance with applicable federal and state laws and regulations and the company’s policies.

Responsible for identifying areas of most significant business compliance risk for developing compliance programs and for assuring compliant execution of Home Health programs and initiatives.

Supporting the Business goals while building and maintaining a strong culture of compliance throughout the Business by, among other things, implementing effective policies, procedures and training; ensuring open and effective lines of communication at all levels of the organization; supporting investigations, conducting risk assessments and audit and monitoring activities; and driving enterprise-wide compliance initiatives

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the enhancement and implementation of the compliance program for the home health businesses
  • Conduct periodic compliance risk-based assessments; review the content and performance of the Compliance and Ethics Program on a continuing basis; and take appropriate steps to improve its effectiveness.
  • Develop risk-based compliance workplans for the Business
  • Translate and evaluate the strategic and tactical business plans for compliance risks and actions.
  • Monitor legal and regulatory changes that affect the Home Health Compliance Program. Establish a process to implement changes and communicate these changes to appropriate individuals.
  • Develop, chair and evaluate the effectiveness of Home Health Compliance Committee.
  • Participate in compliance due diligence for potential acquisitions.
  • Maximize current strengths of the compliance program, identify and remedy gaps, proactively assess and address emerging compliance risks
  • Establishing effective partnerships across the business and enabling functions, such as Legal, HR, Revenue Cycle, Internal Audit, IT, Sales, etc
  • Effectively manage and direct a team of compliance professionals and provide for their continued engagement and development
  • Implement robust, data based auditing and monitoring program for home health business
  • Develop appropriate analytics to analyze the Business’s compliance to applicable regulations and internal policies
  • Establishing and supporting effective business processes and controls to ensure the organization is satisfying its regulatory and compliance obligations including remediating any identified gaps in a timely fashion

Qualifications

  • Clinical degree preferred
  • 10 years healthcare experience
  • Extensive compliance/legal experience
  • Minimum of 5 years of home health compliance experience
  • Certification in Healthcare Compliance (CHC) preferred
  • Working knowledge of healthcare regulatory environment
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of healthcare and business operations and strategies to maintain continuous organizational compliance with internal and external requirements.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in design of systems procedures and policies to guide and ensure compliance with governing regulations to which home health is subject.
  • Proven, highly effective cross-function team management skills as a leader of inspiring and motivating associates in an organization with priorities focused on achieving excellence in all areas of service and quality.
  • Excellent oral and written communications
  • Travel up to 30%
