WESTPORT AXLE CO, a subsidiary of Universal Logistics Holdings, Inc. is a leading transportation and third-party logistics provider (3PL) that offers a broad scope of services throughout the entire supply chain. Westport's experienced management team, with its state-of-the-art technology, provides customized logistics solutions to its customers resulting in proven efficiencies and savings.

This operation supports a full range of our value added services. We manage and operate a warehouse facility which encompasses: Picking, Packing, Storage, and Shipping of automotive parts and equipment. This operation ships to various dealers, warehouses, and distribution facilities - as well as direct to the assembly line in a Just-in-Time (JIT) capacity.

Responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

  • Maintaining the facility network, servers, and PC’s
  • Troubleshooting and diagnosing network, server, and PC issues
  • Assisting upper management with any technology related projects or research
  • Assisting the operations group, as needed
  • Work with the team to manage root cause analysis, solution design, code writing, testing, documentation, and implementation of projects
  • Execute assigned team activities with an emphasis on quality, customer service, timeliness, and budget
  • Consult with users, management, vendors, and technicians to assess computing needs and system requirements and provide technical support

The ideal candidate should possess the following:

  • Bachelor's degree or Associate's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field (preferred)
  • Experience in systems engineering, data processing operations, communications, risk management, or other IT areas preferred
  • Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio)
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Problem solving and analytical skills, as well as a strong attention to detail
  • Ability to multitask
  • Experience working with warehouse management systems or sequencing a plus
