Under general supervision, performs moderately complex repair of equipment and facilities electro/mechanical systems. Diagnose, troubleshoot, test and repair facilities equipment failures. May have responsibility for multiple facilities within a geographic region.

  • Maintain a safe work environment for all employees to work in with an emphasis on eliminating injuries. through improved housekeeping and safe work habits/procedures.
  • Exhibit an exemplary sense of urgency and discipline in meeting operational needs.
  • Ensure quality workmanship as to instill pride in the department's work.
  • Work in full compliance of all safety regulations.
  • Troubleshooting mechanical and electrical systems, and solves issues in a timely manner.
  • Understand and demonstrate skills/knowledge as necessary on: plant and office electrical systems (to include 3 phase distribution systems), air compressors and air systems, water and sewer utilities, welding, fabrication, pneumatic equipment/tools, and lockout-tagout procedures.
  • Must collaborate closely with all operations departments to ensure optimal uptime
  • Ensures plant cleanliness to include 5S strategies.
  • Utilize the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) for reporting maintenance Activities, repairs, breakdowns, and preventive maintenance history of plant equipment.
  • Perform Preventive/Predictive strategies to minimize unplanned downtime.
  • Organize and maintain maintenance shop equipment and tools.
  • Basic computer aptitude
  • Welding experience preferred.

Requirements:

  • Excellent attendance and work record.
  • Strong analytic/problem solving skills.
  • Experience working with and troubleshooting high tech control systems to include: Programmable Logic Controllers (Allen Bradley preferred), Variable Speed Drives (VFDs), and three phase motors.
  • Experience with 3 phase electrical distribution systems.
  • 3-5 years working in a similar role as a maintenance technician.
  • Completion of a vocational maintenance or electrical program.
  • Excellent attendance and work record.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
