Description

Purpose

The Youth Care Worker I is responsible for providing a variety of direct care services to residents, assisting professional staff in the implementation of individual treatment plans, and ensuring the effective operation of the residential program.

Pay

$18.00 per hour plus $1.00 per hour shift differential.

Additional pay based on Residential Experience and/or a Bachelor's degree.


Essential Job Functions

  1. Teaches and monitors behaviors/skills according to individualized treatment plans using the Psycho-Educational Model (PEM)
  2. Models' appropriate relationships with youth and staff
  3. Teaches meal preparation and living skills.
  4. Attends consultation meetings.
  5. Monitors and maintains a safe living and learning environment for youth (e.g., bed checks, recreational activities, educational activities, etc.)
  6. Attends to youths' medical/physical conditions.
  7. Assists in the preparation of youth summaries and reports (e.g., clinical summaries, behavioral report cards, discharge summaries, incident reports, etc.)
  8. Assists in processing documents for youth intake and departure.
  9. Participates in Safe Crisis Management as needed.
  10. Updates youth files
  11. Participates in shift transition meetings.
  12. Attends weekly staff meetings and daily feedback sessions.
  13. Transports youth to and from cottage/campus to school, appointments, and outings

Education

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and 1-3 months related experience and/or training. Bachelor’s degree in a preferred field of study desired.

SCM certification, First Aid/CPR certification, valid driver's license
