This role functions as the technical lead for origination-stage solution development, translating customer requirements, load profiles, and site constraints into indicative, executable system designs. A primary focus of the position is defining how Mesa’s PowerCore™ generation platform is integrated, deployed, and scaled within large, complex site environments. Working across origination, engineering, and project delivery functions, this position ensures customer-driven concepts are developed into practical, standardized system architectures and carried through detailed engineering, construction, and commissioning via third-party EPC partners. The role combines hands-on power systems engineering with technical leadership, bridging customer requirements, internal platform capabilities, and EPC execution to deliver reliable, repeatable power infrastructure at scale.   Essential Duties Lead origination-stage technical solutioning, translating customer requirements, load profiles, and site constraints into executable electrical system designs. Define system architectures, including generation sizing, redundancy strategy, electrical distribution topology, interconnection approach, and controls integration. Lead integration of Mesa’s PowerCore™ platform into large-scale site deployments, including aggregation, dispatch strategy, and system-level coordination. Develop and maintain standardized electrical frameworks that enable repeatable, programmatic deployment across a portfolio of sites. Perform and oversee power system studies, including load flow, short circuit, protection coordination, and arc flash analyses using tools such as ETAP, SKM, EasyPower, or PSCAD (as applicable). Develop core engineering deliverables, including single-line diagrams, grounding strategies, protection philosophies, and medium-voltage distribution systems. Support equipment selection and system integration, including generators, transformers, switchgear, and MV cabling. Evaluate system performance under normal, contingency, and abnormal conditions to ensure reliability, stability, and compliance with design objectives. Establish system reliability and availability targets, including redundancy strategies aligned with customer and operational requirements. Ensure designs align with Mesa standards while remaining adaptable to site-specific constraints. Define system control architecture, including plant-level controls, dispatch hierarchy, and integration with external systems (e.g., SCADA, EMS, BESS where applicable). Lead utility interconnection efforts, including technical study coordination, grid compliance, and permitting support. Define interconnection strategy (POI configuration, protection boundaries, distribution vs. transmission) aligned with system architecture and customer objectives. Interface with utilities, ISOs/RTOs, and regulatory bodies on protection schemes, operating constraints, and system integration requirements. Direct and manage third-party EPC partners responsible for detailed engineering and construction execution. Ensure design intent established during origination is maintained through detailed engineering, construction, and commissioning. Define and manage technical scope boundaries and interface points between Mesa, EPC partners, and customer systems (electrical, controls, and interconnection). Coordinate interconnection scope with EPC execution, including protection systems, SCADA/communications, and point-of-interconnection infrastructure. Review EPC deliverables and vendor submittals for technical accuracy, constructability, and alignment with standards. Identify and mitigate technical, interconnection, and execution risks across all project phases. Support commissioning, startup, and grid synchronization, validating system performance, operability, and compliance with design intent. Incorporate commissioning results, field performance data, and operational feedback into continuous improvement of system design and deployment standards. Serve as the technical authority for system architecture decisions, including approval of design approaches, deviations, and integration strategies. Act as the primary technical interface across customers, EPCs, OEMs, vendors, and internal teams. Partner with Sales, Project Management, Supply Chain, and Engineering to align technical solutions with cost, schedule, and execution requirements. Collaborate across mechanical, controls, civil, and manufacturing disciplines to ensure integrated and constructible system design. Drive alignment across stakeholders from concept through commissioning and operations. Support value engineering efforts balancing performance, cost, schedule, and lifecycle considerations.
