Classified Customer Service Representative

Summary:

MediaNews Group, Inc., owner of The Lowell Sun, Fitchburg Sentinel & Enterprise, and the Boston Herald, is looking for a detail-oriented and highly motivated Classified Inside Sales Representative. You will be on the front lines, delivering excellent service and ensuring our advertisers’ needs are handled with precision and care.

What you will do:

• Provide Excellent Customer Service: Serve as a primary point of contact for businesses and community members, resolving inquiries, handling customer concerns, and ensuring account resolution with empathy and precision

• Process and Manage Advertising: Accurately and efficiently process advertising orders across various categories (including obituaries, legal advertising, and recruitment) in a timely manner, adhering to all required deadlines

• Problem-Solve: Take ownership of customer issues, including escalated calls and order complications, coordinating effectively with internal departments (such as Production and Accounting) to find prompt, efficient solutions

• Process Management: Maintain strong attention to detail, ensuring correct information and complete process steps are followed for ads, billing, and daily workloads

• Communication: Utilize excellent phone/verbal and written communication skills to interact with customers and colleagues in a respectful and professional manner

What you will bring:

• Prior customer service experience in a similar, fast-paced environment is preferred

• Strong computer knowledge, as well as good grammar and spelling skills

• Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to work well independently and within deadlines

• A strong sense of urgency to efficiently manage tasks and quickly adapt to changing priorities

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required, some college is preferred

Benefits and Compensation:

The hourly is $21.63 + commission. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to geographic location, education, work experience, time in role, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, the Company offers eligible employees a variety of benefits including medical, dental, life and disability insurance, 401k, as well as paid time off and select paid holidays (all benefits are based on eligibility).
