Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in Social Work, Psychology or related field
Knowledge of behavioral interventions for geriatric and dementia populations
Experience conducting behavioral and psychosocial assessments

These qualifications and skills enable Social Workers to provide effective, compassionate, and ethical support to individuals, families and other healthcare workers on those teams.

Licensing and Certification

Licensure: Varies by region but often includes exams to become a Licensed Social Worker (LSW) or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW).
