About the Role

As a Residential Loan Analyst, you’ll help move mortgage loans smoothly from application through closing. You’ll manage an assigned pipeline, coordinate documentation and third-party services, monitor key milestones, and partner with members, Mortgage Loan Officers, and internal lending teams to deliver an accurate, compliant, and seamless lending experience.

 

What You'll Do

  • Manage an assigned pipeline of residential mortgage loans from application through closing, keeping loans on track and meeting service and compliance expectations. 
  • Review applications, disclosures, supporting documentation, and underwriting conditions for accuracy, completeness, and compliance. 
  • Coordinate appraisals, flood certifications, title work, credit updates, income and asset verifications, and other services needed to move loans forward. 
  • Maintain accurate loan information and documentation in Encompass throughout the origination process. 
  • Monitor rate locks, contingencies, closing dates, outstanding conditions, and other key milestones while proactively addressing potential delays. 
  • Keep Mortgage Loan Officers, branches, underwriting, closing, attorneys, Loan Servicing, and other partners informed throughout the process. 
  • Conduct pipeline reviews with Mortgage Loan Officers to prioritize loans, identify outstanding requirements, and keep applications progressing toward closing. 
  • Proactively and consistently follow up with members to obtain outstanding documentation and information in a timely manner.
  • Prepare and issue required regulatory and loan-related notices, including incomplete application notices, commitment letters, adverse action notices, and other applicable communications. 
  • Review files for closing readiness and communicate clear-to-close status once all requirements have been satisfied. 
  • Serve as a resource to Mortgage Loan Officers and team members on residential lending workflows, documentation requirements, Encompass processes, and established procedures. 
  • Support onboarding and training of new team members while contributing to department procedures and best practices. 
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes, strengthen controls, enhance technology, reduce delays, and improve the member and employee experience.


What We're Looking For

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or a related field preferred. 
  • 3+ years of progressive experience in residential mortgage processing, loan closing, loan servicing, underwriting, or a related lending function. 
  • Knowledge of residential mortgage and home equity lending processes, documentation requirements, and applicable lending regulations. 
  • Experience with a mortgage loan origination system; Encompass experience strongly preferred. 
  • Understanding of loan disclosures, underwriting conditions, title and appraisal requirements, flood requirements, credit documentation, and closing processes. 
  • Strong analytical, organizational, problem-solving, and attention-to-detail skills with the ability to independently manage a high-volume pipeline. 
  • Sound judgment and the ability to identify issues, resolve problems, and know when to escalate. 
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to work effectively with members, Mortgage Loan Officers, attorneys, vendors, and internal partners. 
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, and Excel. 
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and maintain accuracy in a fast-paced lending environment.
