Senior Sales Manager & Estimator
iFOAM of Northwest Arkansas - (Territory-wide travel required) Job Type: Full-Time
Position Summary
The Sales Manager & Estimator owns the top of the funnel: generating and closing leads, building relationships with home builders and general contractors, and producing accurate, profitable estimates from site visits and plans. This is a hybrid sales and technical role - equal parts relationship-building and hands-on measurement/scoping - and is critical to hitting revenue targets as the franchise scales. The ideal candidate is a self-starter who's comfortable both on a job site with a tape measure and in a builder’s, office closing a deal.
Key Responsibilities
Sales & Business Development
- Own the full sales cycle from lead generation through close for residential and commercial insulation jobs
- Build and maintain relationships with local home builders, general contractors, remodelers, and architects to generate repeat/referral business
- Respond promptly to inbound leads (web, phone, referral) with professional, timely follow-up
- Develop and execute outreach strategies to win new builder accounts across the NWA territory
- Track pipeline, close rates, and revenue against monthly/quarterly targets
- Represent the company at builder association events, trade shows, and industry networking functions
Estimating & Site Assessment
- Conduct on-site assessments of residential and commercial projects (new construction, retrofit, and retro-fill)
- Take accurate field measurements and review blueprints/plans to determine square footage, foam type, and R-value requirements per code
- Build detailed, profitable estimates accounting for material costs, labor, equipment time, and job complexity
- Identify site-specific challenges (access issues, existing insulation, moisture concerns, ventilation requirements) that affect scope or pricing
- Recommend the appropriate foam system (open-cell, closed-cell, injection) based on application, climate zone, and customer goals/budget
Proposal Development & Closing
- Prepare clear, professional written proposals and contracts for customers and builders
- Explain technical benefits of spray foam (energy efficiency, air sealing, moisture control) in terms customers understand
- Handle objections around pricing, timeline, and product comparisons (vs. fiberglass, cellulose, competitors)
- Negotiate and finalize contract terms within company pricing guidelines
- Coordinate handoff of signed jobs to the Project Manager for scheduling and execution
Account & Relationship Management
- Serve as the primary point of contact for builder/GC accounts throughout the project lifecycle
- Conduct periodic check-ins with key accounts to maintain relationships and identify new opportunities
- Gather and act on customer feedback to improve close rates and service quality
- Monitor competitor activity and pricing in the NWA market (e.g., other local insulation contractors) and adjust strategy accordingly
Administrative & Reporting
- Maintain accurate CRM records of leads, estimates, and closed jobs
- Provide regular sales forecasts and pipeline reports to ownership
- Track estimate-to-close ratios and identify areas to improve conversion
- Coordinate with the warehouse/operations team on material lead times that affect proposal timelines
Qualifications
Required
- 3+ years of experience in sales, estimating, or business development, ideally in construction, insulation, or a related building trade
- Demonstrated ability to read blueprints/floor plans and translate them into accurate takeoffs
- Strong negotiation and closing skills with a track record of hitting sales targets
- Comfortable conducting site visits, including attics, crawl spaces, and active construction sites
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Valid driver's license with clean driving record
- Proficiency with CRM software and estimating tools/spreadsheets
Preferred
- Prior experience selling or estimating spray foam insulation or other building envelope products
- Existing relationships with NWA home builders, GCs, or remodelers
- Familiarity with residential energy code requirements (IECC, R-value standards) by climate zone
- Experience with construction estimating software
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus
Physical Requirements
- Ability to access attics, crawl spaces, and other confined or elevated areas for site assessments
- Ability to lift/carry measurement tools and equipment (typically under 25 lbs)
- Ability to travel daily across the NWA territory (own or company vehicle)
Compensation & Benefits
- Base salary plus increasing commission structure tied to closed sales + annual incentive bonus
- Performance bonuses for exceeding revenue targets
- Work mileage reimbursement
- Health insurance, 401(k)
- Significant growth potential as the franchise rapidly expands into additional markets
Work Schedule
- Full-time, Monday–Friday with flexibility for evening/weekend appointments based on customer availability
- Daily travel throughout the Bentonville, Rogers, Springdale, and Fayetteville territory; occasional travel to Fort Smith as territory expands
