About the Role

As the Vice President, Residential Loan Originations Manager, you’ll lead the Credit Union’s mortgage and home equity origination teams, driving growth, strong sales performance, and an exceptional member experience. You’ll set the direction for origination strategy, coach and develop high-performing teams, and build relationships that expand our presence in the market. This role combines strategic leadership, business development, and operational partnership while ensuring every lending decision and practice meets our high standards for compliance and risk management.

 

What You'll Do

  • Lead, coach, and develop Mortgage and Home Equity Officers to achieve production, growth, and member experience goals.
  • Develop and execute mortgage and home equity origination strategies that drive sustainable loan growth, market expansion, and relationship value.
  • Monitor pipeline activity, production results, sales performance, and key metrics to identify opportunities and drive accountability.
  • Oversee loan officer compensation programs, ensuring plans support business objectives and comply with applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with realtors, brokers, builders, community partners, and other referral sources to expand market presence and generate new business.
  • Partner with Residential Operations, Secondary Market, Marketing, and other internal teams to create a seamless, efficient origination experience.
  • Ensure origination activities comply with applicable mortgage regulations, including TILA/Reg Z, RESPA, HMDA, Fair Lending, and related requirements.
  • Recruit, retain, coach, and develop a high-performing origination team with a focus on accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance processes, technology, products, and sales strategies to improve efficiency, competitiveness, and the member experience.


What We're Looking For

  • 8+ years of residential mortgage lending experience, including progressive leadership experience.
  • Strong knowledge of mortgage and home equity products, underwriting fundamentals, and secondary market guidelines.
  • Demonstrated experience leading sales performance and loan officer compensation programs.
  • Strong understanding of mortgage regulatory and compliance requirements, including TILA/Reg Z, RESPA, HMDA, and Fair Lending.
  • Proven ability to build relationships with realtors, brokers, builders, community partners, and other referral sources.
  • Strong leadership, coaching, business development, and relationship-building skills.
  • Strategic and analytical mindset with the ability to translate market opportunities and performance data into actionable growth strategies.
  • Strong communication, decision-making, and organizational skills with the ability to balance strategic priorities and day-to-day business needs.

In alignment with our commitment to pay transparency, we're pleased to share that the base range for this position is $140,000 - $155,000 per year, excluding fringe benefits or potential incentives. This position is also eligible for a variable compensation plan. If you're hired, your final base pay will be determined based on factors such as skills, education, and experience. We also take pay equity seriously and consider the internal equity of our current team members as part of any final offer.
