Job Summary
              At this time, only current PSEG employees are being considered.Â
A technician installs hardware and software for businesses, maintain computer systems and equipment, and diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair issues that may interfere with the daily functions of a business. They also provide support to any members of an organization who needs computer-related technical assistance. An IT assistant technician, provides technical support to users by installing, configuring, and maintaining hardware and software. They also respond to user requests and ensure systems run optimally.
Responsibilities may shift based on strategic goals, emerging technologies, operational requirements, or leadership direction.
Job Responsibilities
- Perform troubleshooting and repairs to address/resolve PC hardware, peripherals, operating system, application software and network connectivity failures; ensure documented incident (INC) records are resolved within committed service levels
- Deploy new or reallocated PC hardware, operating system changes and applications as requested; ensure documented request (REQ) tasks are deployed within committed service level
- Provide desktop support outside core business hours during refueling outages; ensure documented outage-related incident (INC) records are resolved within committed service levels
- Image new and reallocated PCs as needed
- Manage model stock of spare PCs, monitors, peripherals and other PC hardware
- Perform periodic walk downs and equipment checks for Emergency Planning PC assets and IT systems in preparation for drills and exercises
- Respond to PSEG Nuclear client inquiries and provide timely feedback and updates for assigned work
- Support participation in the on call schedule; respond to after hours IT incidents and operational needs as assigned
- Provide support for video and audio-conferencing systems; ensure reliable performance for meetings, training sessions and plant operational activities
- Participate in Emergency Planning (EP) drill scenarios and respond as required; ensure IT systems and PC assets function properly throughout drills
Job Specific Qualifications
- 0-2 years technical experience required with a degree in STEM
- 4-6 years related technical experience required with out a degree
- A valid Real ID or an approved form of alternate documentation (https://www.pseg.com/IDrequirement) is required for this job
- Must meet and maintain nuclear requirements for Unescorted Site Access and maintain fitness-for-duty requirements
