Summary:

 

Gwynedd Mercy University invites applications for the position of Assistant Athletic Trainer. This is a 12-month position, and salary is commensurate with experience. The University is a member of the Atlantic East Conference, Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference and NCAA Division III.

 

Duties for this position include, but are not limited to:

Assist in the prevention, evaluation, treatment and rehabilitation of athletic related injuries/illnesses under the direction of the head athletic trainer and team physician for all offered intercollegiate sports. 

Assist with the daily operation of the athletic training facility including supervision of medical coverage for practices and events, and supervision of student first aiders. Appropriate record keeping practices and facility maintenance. 

Communicate effectively with student athletes, coaches and, as necessary, parents regarding the nature of injury, treatment plan and return to activity progression. 

This position is in a non-traditional working environment including mornings, nights and weekends with limited travel. 

Performs other duties as assigned. 

 

QUALIFICATIONS

Must be NATA member, BOC certified. Pennsylvania Athletic Trainer License eligible. 1 – 3 years Athletic Training experience preferred as a Certified and/or Licensed Athletic Trainer. Collegiate experience preferred. BA/BS required
