Job Title:  Warehouse Assistant

Department: Warehouse

Work Location: Summerdale, AL      

Job Type: Full Time

 

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Receives, inspects, and stores materials and supplies in accordance with Cooperative procedures.
  • Maintains adequate inventory levels of materials and supplies to support daily operations.
  • Assists in ensuring proper inventory control by accurately tracking material receipts, issues, and transfers.
  • Pulls, stages, and distributes materials for daily work orders.
  • Enters material receipts, issues, and departmental charge details into the Cooperative’s inventory management system.
  • Maintains a safe, clean, and organized warehouse work environment in compliance with safety policies and procedures.
  • Operates forklifts and other warehouse equipment safely and in accordance with training requirements.
  • Distributes pole sales materials and meter sockets as directed.
  • Deliver materials to job sites and other Cooperative facilities as required.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
  • Be a champion of safety culture.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma/GED.
  • Two years of experience in warehousing and inventory control.
  • Basic computer skills with software applications (Windows, Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Basic math and communications skills.
  • Must complete requirements for CDL license and forklift certification.

Working Conditions

  • Duties are primarily performed indoors, not in an environmentally controlled setting.
  • Overtime work during emergency situations.
  • Physical activities that require considerable use of arms and legs and moving the whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling materials.
