Provides comprehensive urology care to patients in collaboration with urologists and the clinical care team, following established standards, evidence-based practices, and applicable scope of practice requirements with minimal supervision.
Job Description
The Urology Nurse Practitioner evaluates, diagnoses, treats, and manages patients with acute and chronic urologic conditions, including urinary tract infections, kidney stones, hematuria, benign prostatic concerns, overactive bladder, incontinence, post-operative urologic needs, and other genitourinary conditions. This position provides patient education, orders and interprets diagnostic studies, prescribes medications and treatments within scope of practice, assists with care coordination, and supports the urology team in clinic-based and procedural follow-up care.
Minimum Qualifications:
•    Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
•    Successful completion of an approved Nurse Practitioner program
•    Texas Registered Nurse license AND current Advanced Practice Registered Nurse recognition through the Texas Board of Nursing
•    Current national Nurse Practitioner certification appropriate to population focus
•    Professional nursing or nurse practitioner experience in a clinic setting preferred; urology, surgical specialty, or specialty clinic experience strongly preferred
•    Ability to evaluate urologic conditions, order and interpret diagnostic testing, prescribe medications and treatments within scope of practice, and provide patient education

Posted are the minimum and the maximum wage rates on the wage range for this position.  The successful candidate's placement on the wage range for this position will be determined based upon relevant job experience and other applicable factors. These amounts are the base pay range; additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, standby/on-call, overtime, premiums, extra shift incentives, or bonus opportunities.
