SUMMARY
Responsible for various types of weld preparation, welding and weld finishing operations to manufacture product to customer drawings, specifications, or other forms of instruction.
HOURS- M-F 8AM-5PM
PAY- $18-$25/ HOUR
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (include the following, however, other duties may apply.)
- Performs all tasks in a safe and responsible manner
- Proficient in assigned welding techniques
- Interpretation of mechanical drawings, including weld requirement symbology
- Knowledge of wire and filler material applications for various steel alloys, aluminum, and some exotic materials
- Working knowledge of fixturing and weld set up parameters (amps, volts, etc.)
- Proficient in the use of conventional and precision measuring instruments
- Process inspection, certification, and documentation
- Welding equipment maintenance
- Finish grinding applications using manual and power tools
- Safety and Housekeeping
- Other duties as assigned by the area supervisor

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- Two years related experience and /or training or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- High school diploma or GED preferred and/or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Welding Certifications preferred

Effectively communicate and understand job instructions both verbally and written in the English language. Ability to effectively interpret and translate instructions to other employees in a professional and respectful manner.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Has the ability to perform general mathematical computations and to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, geometry, trigonometry ratios and proportions to practical situations with minimal assistance. Has the ability to read and interpret basic dimensions on blueprints with assistance from the Mentor, Trainer or Lead Man.

REASONING ABILITY
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions. Can address any task requiring interpretations of technical instructions, calculations or other problems with minimal assistance.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Ability to move or transfer products with an overhead crane. Ability to lift 50 lbs. when required. While performing the duties of the job, the employee is regularly required to stand for at least four hours at a time, walk throughout buildings and reach with hands and arms at floor, waist and shoulder level. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
