Plumbing Supervisor

Position Summary

Jenkins Plumbing is seeking an experienced and dependable Plumbing Supervisor to oversee plumbing crews and daily field operations. This position is responsible for ensuring plumbing work is completed safely, efficiently, on schedule, and in accordance with company standards, applicable plumbing codes, and builder requirements.

The Plumbing Supervisor serves as a key point of contact between field employees, branch management, builders, and other departments. The ideal candidate will have strong plumbing knowledge, leadership experience, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple jobs and crews in a fast-paced residential construction environment.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Supervise and provide day-to-day direction to plumbers, helpers, crew leads, and other assigned field employees.
  • Coordinate daily work assignments, job schedules, manpower, and priorities.
  • Monitor new construction plumbing projects from rough-in through trim and final completion.
  • Review plans, blueprints, specifications, selections, and work orders to ensure work is completed correctly.
  • Conduct jobsite visits and inspections to monitor quality, productivity, safety, and overall job progress.
  • Ensure plumbing installations meet applicable plumbing codes, builder specifications, and Jenkins Plumbing quality standards.
  • Identify jobsite issues, delays, material shortages, or installation concerns and work to resolve them promptly.
  • Coordinate with builders, superintendents, branch management, warehouse personnel, and other departments as needed.
  • Ensure crews have the appropriate materials, equipment, information, and resources needed to complete assigned work.
  • Monitor employee attendance, performance, productivity, and conduct.
  • Coach and develop employees and address performance or conduct concerns in partnership with management and Human Resources.
  • Assist with training and onboarding new field employees.
  • Verify completed work and ensure corrections, warranty items, and punch-list items are addressed in a timely manner.
  • Promote proper use and care of company vehicles, tools, equipment, and materials.
  • Help control material waste and unnecessary job costs.
  • Enforce company policies, procedures, and workplace expectations.
  • Ensure employees follow all company safety requirements and jobsite safety procedures.
  • Report accidents, injuries, safety concerns, employee issues, and significant jobsite incidents promptly.
  • Maintain accurate job, employee, and operational documentation as required.
  • Participate in meetings and communicate operational updates, staffing needs, and job concerns to management.
  • Perform other duties as assigned based on operational needs.

Qualifications

  • Previous plumbing experience required; residential new construction plumbing experience strongly preferred.
  • Previous supervisory, crew lead, foreman, or field leadership experience preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of plumbing installation practices, materials, tools, and applicable codes.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, plans, specifications, and job-related documentation.
  • Strong leadership and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple crews, jobs, and priorities.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Must be dependable, organized, and able to work independently.
  • Ability to use mobile devices, email, and company software or applications as required.
  • Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record required when operating company vehicles.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to regularly visit active construction sites.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, climb, kneel, and work in construction environments.
  • Ability to lift and carry plumbing materials, tools, and equipment as necessary.
  • Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather and jobsite conditions.
