In cooperation with other members of the department clinical staff, an Ochsner Staff Physician will provide and coordinate patient care by abiding by Ochsner’s core values of Patients First, Integrity, Compassion, Inclusivity, Teamwork and Excellence and The Responsibilities of the Professional Staff

Job Duties:    Diagnose and treat neurological diseases and disorders. Develop a plan of care for each patient, including complete medical history, physician examination, diagnosis, appropriate treatment and/or referral. Stress the importance of preventative health care measures. Use all available resources in diagnosis and treatment in an appropriate and cost-efficient manner. Confer with consulting physicians, nurses, patients and patients' families concerning treatment and care of patients. Takes neurological On-Call coverage on an equal rotation basis with practice peers. Refer those cases that require specialist services while maintaining responsibility to assure that continuity of care is provided.
