Position Summary
The Branch Manager is responsible for the overall leadership, operational performance, and profitability of an assigned branch. This position oversees field technicians, daily operations, customer satisfaction, quality assurance, safety, scheduling, inventory, and financial performance while developing a high-performing team that consistently delivers exceptional service.
The Branch Manager serves as the leader of the branch by setting clear expectations, coaching employees, maintaining accountability, supporting operational excellence, and fostering a positive team culture. Success in this role requires a balance of technical knowledge, business acumen, customer service excellence, and people leadership.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Team Management
- Lead the daily operations of the assigned branch while promoting Sunrise's Core Values, culture, and commitment to operational excellence.
- Support technicians through daily meetings, field support, ride-alongs, performance discussions, and ongoing training.
- Foster a positive, professional, and accountable work environment that encourages teamwork, employee development, and continuous improvement.
- Manage workforce planning, including scheduling, PTO approval, staffing levels, and branch communication to ensure operational readiness.
- Maintain high standards for technician professionalism, appearance, conduct, and representation of the Sunrise brand.
Operational Excellence
- Oversee daily branch operations to maximize productivity, efficiency, profitability, and customer satisfaction.
- Coordinate technician scheduling and dispatch to ensure the right technician is assigned based on skill, location, workload, and customer needs.
- Monitor branch performance through operational dashboards, KPIs, and ServiceTitan reporting, including productivity, revenue, memberships, and labor efficiency.
- Lead the branch in achieving operational, financial, and profitability goals while maintaining Sunrise's commitment to quality and customer satisfaction.
- Identify operational trends, training opportunities, and process improvements to enhance branch performance.
- Maintain inventory accuracy, material accountability, and coordination with Dispatch, Fleet, Materials, Customer Experience, and Leadership.
Customer Experience
- Champion an exceptional customer experience by ensuring professional service, effective communication, and accurate job documentation.
- Resolve escalated customer concerns using sound judgment, conflict resolution, and de-escalation techniques.
- Coach technicians on customer communication, education, memberships, and service expectations while promoting customer retention.
- Monitor customer feedback, technician notes, and declined work opportunities to identify coaching and continuous improvement initiatives.
Quality Assurance
- Perform ongoing quality reviews of technician work, including invoices, documentation, photographs, workmanship, and customer interactions.
- Conduct ride-alongs and field evaluations to ensure compliance with Sunrise quality standards, safety practices, and technical expectations.
- Identify quality concerns and implement coaching and training plans to improve consistency and performance.
Administrative & Business Operations
- Oversee timekeeping, attendance, workforce management, and employee administration in partnership with Human Resources.
- Maintain branch reports, dashboards, performance metrics, inventory records, and operational planning activities.
Safety & Compliance
- Promote a culture of safety by ensuring compliance with company policies, vehicle standards, PPE requirements, and Workers' Compensation reporting procedures.
- Monitor vehicle condition, driving behavior, safety incidents, and fleet maintenance while addressing safety concerns promptly.
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections and hold employees accountable for maintaining Sunrise safety standards.
Communication & Collaboration
- Ensure Service Titan documentation, customer communications, operational updates, and material requests are completed accurately and promptly.
- Promote collaboration across departments to support efficient branch operations and exceptional customer service.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated success leading and developing high-performing teams.
- Strong knowledge of irrigation systems, drainage systems, pumps, wells, landscape lighting, sod installation, and residential outdoor services preferred.
- Excellent leadership, coaching, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong customer service, conflict resolution, and decision-making abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong analytical and organizational skills with the ability to interpret operational metrics and KPIs.
- Proficiency with ServiceTitan.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Microsoft Office, ADP, and workforce management systems preferred.
- Valid Florida driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 75 pounds.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Ability to safely operate company vehicles and equipment.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb, and perform physical activities associated with field operations.
