Job Summary
The CRNP provides acute and chronic medical care to those combatting substance use disorders and mental health concerns.Â
Key Responsibilities
- Orders, interprets, and evaluates diagnostic tests to identify and assess client’s clinical problems and health care needs.Â
- Provides history and physical exams for new admissions.Â
- Records physical findings, and formulates individual plan and prognosis, based on client’s condition.Â
- Discusses case with physician, counselors, and other health professionals to prepare comprehensive client care plan.Â
- Submits health care plan and goals of individual clients for periodic review by the medical care team.Â
- Prescribes or recommends medications or other forms of treatment such as needed. May refer clients for consultation to outside healthcare resources for treatment.Â
- Performs all other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Education / Credentials
- Nurse Practitioner licensure (Virginia required)Â
- DEA (Virginia required)
Experience
- A minimum of one (1) year experience working in a psychiatric care setting or mental health/substance use disorder environment preferred.Â
Knowledge / Skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Experience promoting good health and maintenance
Working Conditions
- Direct Care position
- Part-time, 16 hours per week, Saturday and Sunday, some on-call during the weekend
- On-site
