The International student worker office assistant plays an essential role in supporting various
functions within the ISC. This part-time position (18 hours per week) allows international
students to gain practical experience, develop professional skills, and contribute to the
university community while balancing their academic responsibilities.

ESSENTIALFUNCTIONSANDRESPONSIBILITIES
1.Administrative Support:Assist department staff with routine administrative tasks, including data entry, filing, photocopying, and organizing documents.
2.Customer Service:Greet ISC visitors, answer phone calls, and respond to inquiries in a courteous and professional manner. Provide assistance to students, faculty, and staff as needed.
3.Event Support:Help plan, promote, and execute ISC university events, workshops, and seminars. Set up event spaces, manage registrations, and provide logistical support during events.
4.Office Technology:Utilize computer software programs such as Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) to create documents, spreadsheets, and presentations.
5.Data Collection:Assist in collecting and organizing data for research projects, surveys, or reports.
6.Social Media and Communications:Contribute to the university's social media presence by creating posts, updating content, and engaging with followers.
7.Special Projects:Contribute to special projects assigned by department supervisors, which may involve research, analysis, or creative tasks.
8.Collaboration:Work collaboratively with other student workers, staff, and faculty members to accomplish tasks and projects.

9.Other tasks as assigned by the ISC director or their leadership designee.

The working environment in which one will typically perform the essential functions of this
position is a climate-controlled office setting.It is well-lighted, and the noise level is

Driving Requirements
Use of one’s personal vehicle (or LU vehicles) is required for travel in the performance of
the essential functions of this position.Proof of a valid Virginia driver’s license, an
acceptable DMV record, and liability insurance is required.
