ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Researches, writes, and edits a variety of marketing materials, specific to campus happenings based on news stories, events, athletic achievements and highlights as well as other pertinent current events happening each school year.
- Develops creative ideas and concepts using a proactive and strategic approach, often in partnership with the team.
- Takes initiative in identifying tone and voice of both the university and in order to write clear, persuasive, original copy.
- Displays strong attention to detail and proofreads copy to check spelling, grammar, and compliance with AP format and the Liberty University verbal brand and style guide.
- Shows flexibility in amending, revising, or redeveloping campaigns in response to feedback from the marketing manager, quality control team and/or marketing leadership.
- Interacts with team and/or clients to identify solutions to challenges and regarding feedback on communication projects.
- Manages working on several projects at once, sometimes under pressure and often within tight deadlines.
- Engages in continued learning through competitor research and professional development to strengthen writing skills and gain familiarity with marketing trends in higher education.
- Support full time writers as needed while shadowing and gleaning information and knowledge from them.

QUALIFICATIONS AND CREDENTIALS
Minimum Requirements
- Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in English, Communication, or related field.
- Approximately zero – two years of related experience required or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Must be able to understand and follow directions and work under limited supervision.
- Must be able to work well with clients and co-workers and present a positive attitude while being courteous, detail-oriented, self-motivated, diligent, trustworthy, and possessing strong organizational skills.
- Possesses a thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
- Desire to work with a team to accomplish goals. Ambition to grow and improve. Ability to think creatively and critically and problem solve efficiently. Must possess ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment.
