Material Handler
Job Summary
The Material Handler is responsible for ensuring the efficient flow of raw materials throughout the production process. Responsibilities include material management, equipment operation and maintenance, quality control, inventory management, and housekeeping. This position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, the ability to prioritize multiple tasks, and a commitment to maintaining a safe and efficient work environment.
Essential Job Duties
- Maintain appropriate material levels at injection molding presses and dryer hoppers.
- Load, mix, and prepare materials according to established process specifications.
- Ensure all materials and containers are accurately identified and properly labeled.
- Safely operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment to transport raw materials.
- Deliver and load materials into presses and dryer hoppers in a timely manner.
- Perform material changeovers, including inventory movement and basic machine maintenance.
- Inspect raw materials for accuracy, contamination, and quality issues.
- Perform daily and monthly preventive maintenance on dryer equipment in accordance with TPS policies and procedures.
- Maintain clean, organized, and safe production and storage areas using good housekeeping practices.
- Perform inventory transactions within the ERP system, including material movement, inventory adjustments, and cycle counts as required.
- Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and OSHA guidelines.
- Demonstrate understanding of and comply with applicable ISO standards and quality system requirements.
- Assist with other production and warehouse duties as assigned.
Shifts
2nd shift 3pm-11pm
3rd shift 11pm-7amÂ
Qualifications
Education
- High school diploma or GED required.
Certifications
- Forklift certification or previous forklift operating experience preferred.
Knowledge & Skills
- Basic reading, writing, and math skills.
- Ability to accurately follow written and verbal instructions.
- Basic computer skills and experience using an ERP or inventory management system preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Effective communication and time management skills.
Experience
- Previous manufacturing or material handling experience preferred.
- Experience operating forklifts and other powered industrial equipment is preferred.

Working Conditions
Environment
- Manufacturing production environment with exposure to noise, moving equipment, dust, and varying temperatures.
- Must be able to frequently lift and carry up to 60 pounds.
- Requires prolonged standing and walking (up to 7.5 hours per shift).
- Must be able to bend, squat, kneel, reach overhead, and work below waist level as needed.
- Must have sufficient mobility to safely perform all essential job functions.
- Flexibility to work overtime, weekends, and holidays when business needs require.
Travel
- No travel required.
