Job DetailsJob Location: NOOKSACK NORTHWOOD CASINO - LYNDEN, WA 98264Position Type: Full TimeEducation Level: 2 Year DegreeTravel Percentage: NegligibleJob Shift: AnyJob Category: Information TechnologyPURPOSE OF POSITION Manage IT Helpdesk day-to-day operations.  Manages IT employees and technical issues relating to information technologies at the Nooksack Northwood Casino while following applicable laws, internal controls and established policies and procedures.  Promotes and ensures exceptional customer service to internal and external customers. REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS Reports Directly to:    General Manager  B.   Supervises Directly: IT Staff   Other Important Contacts:             All Department Managers and Directors, General Manager, vendors and other casino personnel. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Facilitates purchases of computers, network hardware, peripheral equipment, and software; provides technical consulting services to department/organization regarding use of computers and networks to satisfy business needs. Installs, configures, and maintains personal computers, file servers, Ethernet networks, network cabling, and other related equipment, devices, and systems; adds or upgrades and configures modems, disk drives, data acquisition boards, CD ROM units, printers, and related equipment. Administers a complex network or group of networks consisting of around multiple workstations, utilizing one or more TCP/IP or non-TCP/IP networking protocols and/or one or more UNIX-based or non-UNIX based operating systems. Performs and oversees software and application development, installation, and upgrades; maintains site licenses for department/organization. Plans and implements network security, including building firewalls, applying cryptography to network applications, managing host security, file permissions, and file system integrity, and adding and deleting users. Troubleshoots networks, systems, and applications to identify and correct malfunctions and other operational difficulties. Maintains currency of knowledge with respect to relevant state-of-the-art technology, equipment, and/or systems. Catalogs, verifies, and performs system backups for all casino servers, and applications. Staff, schedule, evaluate, train, develop and monitor subordinate personnel.  Interview applicants for subordinate positions, assign work, grant overtime and early outs, discipline and train employees, and recommend wage increases and promotions. QualificationsPOSITION QUALIFICATIONS Required: Minimum of 5 years IT experience. Ability to obtain and maintain a Nooksack Tribal Gaming Agency License and Class III Washington State Gaming License.  Preferred: A college degree or certificate in networking, information systems, technology, or related field. Previous casino IT experience. WORKING CONDITIONS Work in smoke-filled atmosphere. May be exposed to crowds and loud noises. May be required to work weekends and evenings. May interact with persons who are angered, intoxicated, or distressed. PHYSICAL DEMANDS May have to sit or stand for long periods of time. May have to walk distances between office and casino under a variety conditions. Must be able to bend and reach. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
