Job Description

As a Security Officer - Full Time in Sterling, IL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Healthcare, and more. Join Allied Universal as an unarmed officer in a healthcare location, where you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, remain visible to help reduce security-related incidents, and support patients, visitors, and staff with exceptional customer service and communication. In this people-first role, you will contribute to a caring environment through teamwork, integrity, and a reliable, agile approach to daily responsibilities.

Pay Rate: $18.63 / Hour

Job Schedule:

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to patients, visitors, and staff by carrying out security-related procedures, location-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities appropriate to a healthcare setting.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, and communicate relevant details to site contacts and/or first responders as needed.
• Conduct regular and random patrols throughout buildings, entrances, parking areas, and the perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or identify unusual conditions.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity, assist with directions and general questions, and report suspicious behavior, hazards, and/or policy concerns according to site protocols.
• Support daily operations at the location by documenting incidents, completing assigned reports, and following Allied Universal post orders and client-directed procedures.

Minimum Requirements:

• Proof of a high school diploma or GED is required by the client.
• Experience with handcuffs, pepper spray, and baton is preferred.
• CPR and First Aid certification is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
