Accounting Manager

Position Summary:

The Accounting Supervisor oversees the agency’s daily accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger maintenance. Responsible for producing accurate monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial statements in compliance with GAAP, while managing staff, internal controls, tax compliance, and auditing processes.

Duties include:

  1. Manage day to day accounting functions i.e. proofing, posting, Invoicing, Billing, Financial Reporting.
  2. Manage Accounting Staff conducting various activities including Billing & Collections, Accounts Payable and Check issuance, Cost Allocation, Journal Entries and Data Entry ensuring all entries are timely and checks and bills are issued on time.
  3. Audit and reconcile general ledger, financial reports statements and other accounts as assigned.
  4. Prepare, proof, and enter a variety of Accounting records and documents.
  5. Manage timelines for External and Internal reporting and Closing of Fiscal periods.
  6. Participate with annual audit in pulling information and tracing documents to general ledger.
  7. Complete required tax and reporting documents i.e. 1099’s and Unclaimed Property.

8. Maintain policies and procedures for Accounting Department.

The full-time role is based in Butler, PA and works Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, with additional hours as needed.


Minimum Qualifications:

  • Associate’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field AND  five (5) years of experience working in accounting, bookkeeping, finance, accounts payable, accounts receivable, etc
  • Minimum of two (2) years Supervisory or Management experience (oversight of employees)
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Current valid driver’s license and the ability to travel for business utilizing personal vehicle
  • Lift, push or pull up to 20 pounds without assistance
  • Ability to provide acceptable clearances

 

Preferred:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field AND three (3) years of related experience.
  • Non-Profit accounting experience
  • Accounting software experience such as Momentive MIP Fund accounting
