Assistant Foreman
Job Description
OWL Services' Assistant Construction Foreman is a highly motivated, self-starter who can work independently as well as in a fast-paced team environment. The Petroleum Assistant Construction Foreman will be tasked to assist the Construction Foreman leading, managing, and coordinate the construction and installation of petroleum equipment.
Essential Job Functions:
- Co-Lead with Construction Foreman to delegate tasks to construction workers and sub-contractors.
- Building experience such as a foreman.
- Training of laborers to ensure the best skills are applied by each worker and ensure installation requirements are followed accurately and efficiently.
- Ensure safe work practices are always followed. Ensure safe housekeeping practices are always followed.
- Assist Foreman with daily tasks and direct workers on assigned tasks.
- Verify accuracy and compliance of tasks in progress to comply with codes, project specifications and manufacturer requirements.
- Document daily activities, material/parts used, testing, inspections, and visitors.
- Create and maintain positive working relationships with crew members, vendors, suppliers, and sub-contractors to maintain a timely flow of supplies, materials, and sub-contractor work
- Work with concrete, framing, pouring, mixing, and finishing.
- Must be able to operate heavy equipment to excavate ditches, tank holes and install equipment.
- Ability to travel to job sites (may require overnight travel)
- All reasonable requests by management
Requirements:
- Minimum 3 years’ experience with petroleum construction
- Equipment operation experience with operating Skid-Steer Loaders, Excavators, and Backhoes.
- Minimum high school diploma or equivalent
- Requires the ability to acquire state specific AST/UST certifications
- Strong communication skills
- Overtime possible; occasional out of town jobs
- Must successfully complete pre-employment testing to include but not limited to: skills testing and pre-employment background checks as well as drug/alcohol testing
- Must possess a valid Driver’s License (CDL A preferred but not required)
- Must be able to pass a DOT physical
- Ability to lift 50 lbs
- Ability to work outside during all types of weather

Physical Requirements - Must Be Able To:
- Walk and work on uneven terrain, including pea gravel and excavations
- Climb in and out of equipment safely
- Pull and break pipes loose as needed
- Wear and properly use fall protection equipment
- Enter confined spaces to perform tasks (when trained and authorized)
- Pass a DOT physical
- Work outdoors in both hot and cold environments
- Pass a respirator fit test and medical evaluation when required
- Drive safely for extended periods while maintaining focus
- Work in prone positions (on stomach) to access underground equipment for extended periods
Schedule:
6AM to 4PM Monday through Friday
Overtime possible
Occasional out of town jobs requiring over-night stay Monday - Friday
