Reporting to the Manager of PHP and Inpatient Groups, the Inpatient Behavioral Health Group Clinician provides group treatment to patients on the inpatient behavioral health units. Assumes responsibility for planning the daily group program and offering clinically appropriate groups. Collaborates with the unit managers and other departments to ensure that a safe and therapeutic environment is maintained for all patients in the group treatment setting. Works effectively and collaboratively with the multidisciplinary treatment team to enhance the smooth delivery of quality care. In collaboration with the treatment team, plans appropriate group programs to meet the ongoing needs of the patients.Job Description:
Primary Responsibilities:Â
Prepares and plans groups according to patient needs. Makes appropriate programmatic changes in response to patient population and system-wide needs. Runs groups. Demonstrates strong group leadership skills. Shows awareness of both content and process, focusing on either or both when appropriate. Works to maintain a safe, therapeutic setting in groups Provides timely documentation (in the electronic medical record). Consistently monitors patients and communicates to treatment team patient’s level of participation and ability to utilize groups.
Education, Experience, & Licensing Requirements:Â
- Master’s degree in counseling or other related field required
- Prior experience in a behavioral health setting preferred
- MA professional licensure not required
Skills/Qualifications:Â
- Ability to lead different types of treatment groups
- Possesses didactic teaching skills
- Ability to assess patient needs, provide feedback to treatment team and develop groups to meet those needs.
- Group treatment program development
- Theoretical as well as practical knowledge of the group treatment modality with previous clinical experience or demonstrated clinical skills.
- Good communication, listening, and interpersonal skills
- Familiarity with use of electronic medical record such as EPIC

Pay Range:
$22.00 - $26.82The pay range listed for this position is the base hourly wage range the organization reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for this position at this time. Actual compensation is determined based on several factors, that may include seniority, education, training, relevant experience, relevant certifications, geography of work location, job responsibilities, or other applicable factors permissible by law. Compensation may exceed the base hourly rate depending on shift differentials, call pay, premium pay, overtime pay, and other additional pay practices, as applicable to the position and in accordance with the law.
