Leidos currently has an opening forĀ aĀ Embedded SoftwareĀ Engineer, FirmwareĀ toĀ provide technicalĀ firmwareĀ engineeringĀ SW and HW skillsĀ forĀ firmware/embeddedĀ projectĀ supportingĀ theĀ design,Ā development and integration ofĀ UncrewedĀ Underwater VehicleĀ (UUV)Ā programs that address existing and emerging maritime missions of national importance for a broad range of customers across multiple Department of Defense agencies. This position isĀ locatedĀ atĀ ourĀ Lynnwood, WAĀ office.Ā

Primary ResponsibilitiesĀ
Provide technicalĀ firmware/embeddedĀ productionĀ on small teamsĀ from projectĀ inceptionĀ to project deliveryĀ
Design/ImplementĀ embeddedĀ application software andĀ utilities(no operating system)Ā for autonomous systems and vehiclesĀ
Develop features for a software project based on derivedĀ firmwareĀ requirements and work with a team of engineers.Ā
Participate inĀ challenging technical decisions with engineers by listening, understanding, and driving towards the best solution to meet the project requirementsĀ
Support through the testing and evaluation process to ensureĀ delivery ofĀ aĀ high-qualityĀ productĀ

Basic QualificationsĀ
BachelorāsĀ degreeĀ in ElectricalĀ Engineering(EE)Ā or ComputerĀ Science(CS)Ā withĀ richĀ understanding of HWĀ in modern microcontrollersĀ withĀ 0-3Ā years of prior relevant experienceĀ Ā
Eligibility to obtain andĀ maintainĀ a Secret clearanceĀ
Skills with oscilloscope and multimeter.Ā
Understanding of safe handling and measurement of electrical and electronicĀ components and systemsĀ
AdvancedĀ language skills inĀ C/C++Ā Ā
BasicĀ understanding ofĀ LinuxĀ command lineĀ Ā
Basic understanding of Thread safe/Inter-thread communications.Ā
Ability to communicate and share ideas, concepts, designs, and technical plans withĀ a team ofĀ engineersĀ
Able to obtain Secret clearance, requires US Citizenship
Constant integrity in working with our employees and customers.Ā
Preferred QualificationsĀ
ExpertiseĀ in developing embedded solutions and architecture on the STM32 family of microcontrollersĀ
ExpertiseĀ working with I2C, SPI, UART, CAN Bus, and similar interfaces on embeddedĀ systems(no operating system)Ā
Familiarity and basic understanding of Software Design PatternsĀ
Familiarity with Unified Modeling Language (UML) tools such as Cameo or Magic DrawĀ
Experience with Agile-based methodologies using the Atlassian tool suite (Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket) or similar toolsĀ
Experience with virtualized development and production environments (VMware, Docker, etc.)Ā
Ability toĀ identifyĀ and resolve code defects in new and legacy codeĀ
BasicĀ understandingĀ State Machine design.Ā

Pay Range:
Pay Range $57,850.00 - $104,575.00The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline onlyĀ and not a guarantee of compensation or salary.
