This role bridges electrical engineering design and manufacturing execution by translating electrical concepts, schematics, and specifications into functional prototypes and production-ready solutions. The Technician works closely with Electrical Engineers, Manufacturing, Quality, and Supply Chain to develop wiring architectures, control systems, and electrical sub-systems that meet performance, safety, and regulatory requirements. This position plays a critical role in validating designs through testing, troubleshooting electrical issues in production and the field, and ensuring electrical systems are reliable, serviceable, and manufacturable.  ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS All employees are required to support Rosenbauer’s Mission, Vision, and Values. The following are the essential duties of this position and do not include marginal functions that are incidental to the performance of fundamental job duties. The scope and duties of a given position may change or be temporarily altered based on the business needs of Rosenbauer.   Support electrical engineering activities across design, production, testing, research and development, and continuous improvement initiatives. Assist in the development, layout, and documentation of electrical systems including wiring harnesses, control panels, sensors, power distribution, and vehicle electrical architectures. Create, revise, and maintain electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, layouts, and Bills of Materials (BOMs) using CAD and PDM systems. Support prototype builds and production launches by assisting with electrical system installation, validation, and troubleshooting. Develop and execute electrical test plans including bench testing, functional testing, and vehicle-level validation to verify performance, safety, and compliance. Collect, analyze, and document test data to identify performance trends, failures, and opportunities for improvement. Troubleshoot electrical issues related to design, production, and field service, including root cause analysis and corrective action implementation. Support regulatory compliance and certification efforts by preparing electrical documentation and test records as required. Collaborate with Purchasing and suppliers to evaluate electrical components, validate new products, and ensure incoming parts meet design and quality standards. Review customer returns and field feedback related to electrical systems to assess conformance to specifications and drive design improvements. Prepare and present project updates, test results, and technical findings to engineering and cross-functional teams. Manage multiple electrical projects and priorities while responding to unplanned production or field issues as they arise. Performs other duties and responsibilities as required by management to meet the needs of the company. QualificationsKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES (KSA’S): The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.  K Knowledge, Education, and/or Experience: High school diploma required. CAD experience preferred. 1 – 2 years of structural design/drafting experience is preferred. Associate degree in Electrical Engineering or related is preferred. Product data management utilizing CAD and PDM systems. Experience in heavy truck systems and/or automotive systems is preferred. Understanding manufacturing processes for efficient assembly and serviceability. Understanding the custom manufacturing environment is preferred. Knowledge of firefighting equipment is preferred. S Skills: Language: Ability to communicate effectively with all parts of organization with technical diagrams. Math: Able to Interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables. Computer: SolidWorks, Microsoft Office, and AutoCAD.  A Abilities: Proficient in your ability to manage multiple and diverse assignments, including analytical thinking, planning, prioritization, problem solving, decision making, and carrying out assigned projects with minimal supervision. Ability to evaluate designs to meet the customer’s requirements. Must be able to professionally work with vendors. Adhere to all safety policies and procedures. Strong attention to detail. Be able to transfer paper to reality. Initiative to achieve results in a fast-paced environment.
