Responsibilities:

Responsibilities for this position will include analyzing and interpreting health-related research data; teaching, advising, mentoring, and supervising medical and graduate students; developing research ideas and proposals; collaborating with investigators on study design and data analysis; publishing scholarly work; fostering partnerships with researchers, community organizations, and agencies; serving on research committees; pursuing extramural funding opportunities; and supporting medical student research and other academic initiatives to advance the School of Medicine's research mission.

Qualifications:

Candidates must:

• Hold a Ph.D. or DrPH in Epidemiology, Population Heath, Health Promotions, or a related clinical health field.

• Have experience with extramural grant support, statistical design, and analysis.

Faculty members are expected to participate broadly across the curricula in both the medical and graduate programs, engage in scholarship in areas of biomedical science, medical education, or community-oriented research, and serve on departmental, school-wide, or other committees as designated.

The ideal candidate will have:

• Experience using qualitative and quantitative methods and with linking and working with large datasets.

• Familiarity with longitudinal data analysis.

• Experience working as part of a team.

• Ability to work well with others and design and supervise research projects, publish, and contribute to efforts to obtain extramural funding.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Experience presenting and communicating technical and statistical concepts to clinicians, policy makers, and lay audiences.

• Familiarity and/or experience with rural health.

• Teaching graduate or medical students
