Job SummaryÂ
Cherokee Brick & Tile Company is seeking a motivated and hands-on Safety & Human Resources Coordinator
to support our Jackson, MS manufacturing facility. This position serves as the facility's primary safety professional while supporting Human Resources functions under the direction of our Corporate HR & Compliance Team.Â
The ideal candidate enjoys being on the production floor, building relationships with employees, solving problems, and helping create a safe, productive, and positive work environment. Success in this role requires a commitment to workplace safety, employee development, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement.Â
Key ResponsibilitiesÂ
- Lead and promote a strong safety culture throughout the facility.Â
- Conduct safety orientations, training, inspections, and incident investigations.Â
- Monitor OSHA compliance, maintain safety records, and assist with workers' compensation administration.Â
- Identify workplace hazards and partner with supervisors to implement corrective actions.Â
- Assist with recruiting, interviewing, onboarding, and new hire orientation.Â
- Coordinate pre-employment requirements, including background checks, drug testing, and employment documentation.Â
- Support employee relations, attendance, training, and performance documentation.Â
- Maintain Human Resources and safety records while ensuring confidentiality.Â
- Collaborate with supervisors and the Corporate HR & Compliance Team to improve safety, compliance, and employee engagement.Â
QualificationsÂ
- High School Diploma or GED required.Â
- Two (2) to five (5) years of experience in workplace safety, Human Resources, or a combination of both, preferably in a manufacturing environment.Â
- Manufacturing experience strongly preferred.Â
- Knowledge of OSHA regulations and employment practices preferred.Â
- Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.Â
- Self-motivated with a high level of integrity, professionalism, and accountability.Â
- Ability to build positive relationships with employees at all levels and learn manufacturing processes.Â
ScheduleÂ
Day Shift: Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM-4:00 PMÂ
Occasional overtime, evenings, weekends, and travel to the Corporate Office in Macon, Georgia, may be required.Â
