Job Description:

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

路 Supervise residents in all daily aspects of the residential program

路 Lead group and group activities

路 Act as liaison with care providers and case workers to ensure program and quality of life is in the best interest of the resident

路 Communicate effectively with doctors, family members, staff and others

路 Assist in the administration of medications, replenishment of medications and ensure proper documentation of same

路 Become familiar with each resident's diagnosis and care plan to ensure program and activities are helping to meet outcomes

路 Serve as a role model for residents

路 Maintain complete, accurate, and current program documentation and records

路 Appropriate documentation of residents medical, behavioral, and physical changes

路 Redirect resident鈥檚 behavior and intervene regarding inappropriate behavior

路 Possess patience and understanding when assisting aggressive residents to effectively meet treatment needs, while complying with human rights regulations

路 Provide supervision and assistance to residents, not limited to assisting with bathing, dressing and grooming

路 Provide coverage for shifts and hours as needed

路 Transport and accompany residents to and from medical appointments, recreational activities, shopping trips and other scheduled activities as assigned by supervisor

路 Coordinate daily schedules and duties/activities of the residents

路 Perform duties essential to program welfare (i.e., grocery shopping, laundry, cleaning, other household duties)

路 Assist, monitor, or prompt the resident to complete the above items

路 Prepare meals for the residents, grocery shop if necessary, and clean up after meal preparation

路 Ensure the home and equipment remain clean, sanitary, and in good working condition

路 Participate in continuing education programs, seminars, workshops, and in-services to improve professional knowledge of intellectual disabilities

路 Participate in all staff and collaborative meetings as required or needed

路 Effectively handle challenges, complaints, conflicts, and incidents in a patient, respectful, agreeable, and diligent manner with minimal supervision

路 Work in tangent with the Residential Manager and Executive Director to maintain policy and procedures, resident medication, and a professional appearance

路 Continuously enhance the lives of the residents by utilizing all principals of normalization and treat residents with consideration, respect, dignity, integrity, individuality, and recognize their needs

路 Maintain certifications, licensures, and records as required or needed

路 Prepare reports on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis regarding the metrics of staff and group home鈥檚 residents and duplex

路 Perform all other relevant job duties as assigned by immediate supervisor

PHYSICAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS

路 Frequent use of hands, wrists, and fingers and lifting or moving up to 50 lbs. may be required

路 Movements such as stooping, crouching, bending, kneeling, climbing, and reaching are required

路 Noise and/or level of distractions in the work environment is moderate

路 Specific vision abilities required by this position include close, distance, and peripheral vision

路 Ability to operate a motorized vehicle and have reliable transportation

路 Performs household cleaning chores such as washing dishes, doing laundry, and mopping

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

路 Age 18 or older with a high school diploma or GED, bachelor鈥檚 degree preferred but not required

路 TB screening, First Aid/CPR, and Proxy Caregiver Certifications are a must (will provide)

路 Non-Profit experience is a plus

路 Preferred experience working with the mentally ill

路 Minimum one-year experience in healthcare/insurance/caregiving

路 Valid Georgia driver鈥檚 license with a clean MVR (Motor Vehicle Report)

路 Live within commuting distance of the NAMI facility, group home, and duplex

路 Proficient computer/office equipment skills

路 Strong oral and written communication skills

路 Ability to multitask

路 Possess strong decision-making and problem-solving skills

路 Critical listening and thinking skills

路 Strong time management skills

路 Pay Rate: $13/hr

This organization is located in Warner Robins. Owning a Car or reliable transportation is required.
