About Us:
The MRI department at Valley Children’s Healthcare provides superior pediatric care, including Elastography and the use of Monteris equipment to aid in neuro-ablation cases, in a setting that offers some of the latest benefits and innovations in medical technology and family centric care. As a facility with three MRI magnets, we stand upon a 70-year legacy of hospital excellence placing kids and families at the center of all we do. Performing MRI exams and procedures on outpatients, inpatients, and children coming from the emergency department with a focus on patient safety. A key focus for our technologists is to perform job functions as an MRI technologist while modeling our core values within a dynamic and dedicated team who has proven successes in making a difference in children lives in an environment of students, technologists, and others.
Job Summary:
The Medical Imaging Specialist (MIS) is an unlicensed multi-skilled worker who supports patient care by performing specific technical tasks and support functions as delegated by a licensed provider. The care provided by the MIS is supervised by a Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer. Working within a team environment and can manage multiple priorities in a timely manner are required skills.Qualifications:
Education
- High School Diploma/G.E.D. (required)
- Program Graduate of a patient care program (CNA, MA, or EMT) (preferred)
Licenses and Certifications
- BLS - Basic Life Support - AHA - American Heart Association within 30 days of hire or transfer into position (required)
- MA - Medical Assistant (preferred)
- Other - Other CNA - Certified Nursing Assistant (preferred)
- Other - Other EMT- Emergency Medical Technician (preferred)
Work Experience
- Minimum six (6) months Pediatric experience (preferred)
Skills and Abilities
- Work within a team environment and have the ability to manage multiple priorities in a timely manner are required skills.
- Bilingual Skills Preferred.
