Description

PURPOSE 


The Sales Manager is responsible for leading the dealership’s sales team and driving overall sales performance. This includes overseeing daily sales operations, setting and achieving sales targets, coaching and motivating sales staff, and ensuring exceptional customer service. The Sales Manager develops and implements sales strategies, monitors market trends, manages inventory levels, and collaborates with other departments to maximize profitability. This role also ensures compliance with company policies and state/federal regulations while fostering a positive, high-performance sales culture that supports long-term customer relationships and dealership growth.  


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS 

     

  • Lead, coach, and motivate the sales team to achieve and exceed monthly   sales targets and performance metrics.
  • Support the Assistant General Manager in planning, organizing and   directing activities of the sales department.
  • Partner with senior leadership to plan and manage new and used vehicle   inventory. 
  • Develop and implement effective sales strategies to drive business   growth.
  • Ensures positive associate engagement and employee development through   timely and effective feedback, to include individual meetings and performance   management.
  • Analyze market trends and customer needs to identify new business   opportunities.
  • Foster strong relationships with customers to enhance their buying   experience.
  • Oversee the sales process from prospecting to closing, ensuring high   levels of customer satisfaction.
  • Utilize Tekion CRM System for tracking sales, activities and managing   customer relationships.
  • Conduct regular training sessions for the sales team on product   knowledge and selling techniques.
  • Perform other duties as reasonably assigned.


Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS 

  

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, or related field preferred. Equivalent experience in dealership operations, sales or business development may substitute for formal education.
  • Minimum 5-7 years of progressive experience, preferably in automotive dealership sales and management.
  • Valid driver’s license with clean driving record.
  • Proven track in automotive sales. 
  • Experience in Tekion CRM or equivalent systems and dealership management systems preferred.
