Job DetailsJob Location: Main Hospital Campus Headquarters - Madison, WV 25130Position Type: Full TimeJoin Our Team Boone Memorial Health is seeking a compassionate, dependable, and motivated Emergency Department Technician (ER Tech) to join our Emergency Department team. This hands-on role is essential to delivering exceptional patient care by supporting nurses and providers, assisting with patient transport, obtaining vital signs and EKGs, and helping ensure patients receive timely, safe, and efficient care. What You'll Do Safely transport patients throughout the Emergency Department and hospital using wheelchairs, stretchers, and hospital beds. Assist patients with transfers to and from ambulances, vehicles, treatment rooms, and inpatient units. Obtain and document vital signs, perform EKGs, and assist with other patient care activities as directed. Transport laboratory specimens and other patient-related items promptly and accurately. Support nurses and providers during patient care by assisting with movement, positioning, and urgent transfers. Inspect and maintain transport equipment to ensure it is clean, safe, and ready for use. Deliver supplies and equipment to patient care areas as needed. Provide compassionate assistance and excellent customer service to patients, families, and visitors. Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment while following HIPAA, Joint Commission, infection prevention, and organizational standards. Qualifications   High school diploma or equivalent. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or the ability to obtain certification within 90 days of hire. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to remain calm, professional, and compassionate in a fast-paced emergency care environment. Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary healthcare team. Preferred Previous healthcare experience. Emergency Department or hospital experience. Physical Requirements Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the shift. Ability to frequently bend, reach, squat, twist, push, and pull. Ability to safely lift, move, and assist with transferring patients and equipment up to 50 pounds using proper body mechanics.
