As an Advanced Practice Provider, you'll play an integral role in our care teams by providing high-quality, cost-effective care to patients.

We are seeking a Nurse Practitioner / Physician Assistant to:

Provide advanced inpatient cardiac care for cardiac surgery patients

  • Provide advanced inpatient care for cardiothoracic transplant patients

  • Preop orders and postoperative for heart and lung transplant patients

  • Participation in Heart Failure/Shock team protocols

  • Support surgical elements of the lung and heart transplant programs (which works closely with the Advanced Pulmonary/ECMO program, Heart Failure/MCS programs)

  • Support ECMO specialists, VAD specialists

  • Participation in daily rounding, multidisciplinary rounds, review for appropriate billing

  • Clinical Management of Advanced Therapies- Impella, ECMO, LVAD

  • Complex wound management, chest tubes, pacing wires, sternal closure monitoring, participation in bedside procedures

  • Work at an ECMO Center of Excellence and Level 1 Trauma Center.

  • Outpatient participation for patient work-up and continuity of care

  • Preoperative evaluation for heart and lung transplant patients including VAD and transplant candidacy

  • Participate in transplant selection conference

  • Coordinate care from inpatient to outpatient transplant clinic

Education:

  • If Nurse Practitioner: Master’s or Doctorate’s degree from accredited Nursing Program.
  • If Physician Assistant: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree from accredited PA Program.

Licenses and Certifications:
Minimum –
If Nurse Practitioner*:

  • Active RN and APRN certifications and licenses, including prescriptive authority, in state(s) of practice AND
  • Active board certification as a NP in area of clinical practice. These may include the following: Adult/Gero Acute Care

If Physician Assistant*:

  • Active PA license, including prescriptive authority, in state(s) of practice AND
  • Active PA board certification

All Nurse Practitioner and Physician Assistant applicants must have*: Active DEA license or ability to apply for such license prior to or upon hire
