House Supervisor | Nursing Administration
Gateway Regional Medical Center - Granite City, IL
Full-Time | Day Shift | $40.79-$61.19/hr
Lead with impact. Shape patient care across an entire shift.
At Gateway Regional Medical Center, we're looking for an experienced RN ready to step into a house-wide leadership role. As House Supervisor, you'll be the clinical decision-maker across departments during your shift - directing nursing operations, mentoring staff, and ensuring every patient receives safe, coordinated, high-quality care.
This is a role for a nurse who thrives on autonomy, problem-solving, and being the person others turn to when it matters most.
What You'll Do
- Oversee and coordinate nursing care across the facility, applying the full nursing process - assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation
- Serve as the go-to clinical leader for staff across departments, troubleshooting in real time
- Partner with physicians, department leads, and care teams to keep patient outcomes on track
- Step in to guide complex or escalating situations with confidence and sound judgment
What You Bring
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program
- Current Illinois RN license
- Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications (AHA or American Red Cross)
- 2-3 years of hospital experience
- Strong communicator who works well across disciplines
- Resilience, stamina, and a calm presence under pressure
Why Gateway Regional
- Competitive pay: $40.79-$61.19/hr, based on experience and qualifications
- Performance-based incentives
- Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage (see full Benefits Guide)
- Employer-matched retirement savings plan
- Paid vacation and holidays
- Shift differentials
- A culture built on respect, integrity, and supporting each other - not just our patients
We're a community hospital with a mission that goes beyond the job description: compassionate, personalized care, delivered by people who genuinely want to be here. If that sounds like you, we'd love to talk.
Final compensation is determined in partnership with HR based on experience, certifications, and skills relevant to the role.
What changed and why:
- Led with the role and a hook instead of a generic mission paragraph (the mission still matters, but candidates skim - I moved it to the close where it lands as a payoff, not a gate)
- Turned duty-listing into action-oriented bullets ("you'll lead," "you'll partner") so it reads as a role, not a checklist
- Tightened requirements into a scannable list
- Made benefits and pay range easier to spot at a glance
